CHANHASSEN, Minnesota -Prince Rogers Nelson, an artist and a legend who received 7 Grammies during his lifetime has died suddenly in an elevator at his Paisley park mansion. After his death, the purple tribute started to rain down from celebrities, radio and fans. Prince Rogers Nelson is gone but a mural painted by Rock Martinez, an artist on 26th street and Hennepin Avenue in Uptown Minneapolis, had fans all over Minnesota come down to take a look at it. A dedicated fan rode 5 miles in the rain on her bicycle to have a glance of the mural. Rock Martinez says “My inspiration came from the people of Minneapolis that shouted it out to me from their cars, paint Prince!” And when the inspiration was given birth to, a lot of fans drove and walked to see the mural.The painting took almost eight hours, and fans admired the beauty of the result upon arrival. Some of the fan at the scene took pictures, showed emotions and love, and even placed some memorial flowers and other gifts under the mural. Some others had inspirations from the mural themselves.
Upon viewing the painting Tony Simpson said ,it has inspired him to do better and more for other people. Martinez had an admiration for Prince due to his uniqueness and his charitable work and wanted to do this art for the people of Minneapolis ffff
